Hi there! I’m glad you stopped by.
My name is Douglas and I write the Newsletter Postcards from Latin America. This newsletter is about ordinary things written from a not so ordinarty perspective. It is about the things in life that matter the most that we often take for granted.
After spending the last 8+ years doing outreaches in Nicaragua, my wife and I finally moved here full time. It was a slow evolution, somewhat accidental, but none the less exactly what we needed to do.
This publication has been a long time in the works. I have wanted for years to have a place to collect the images, discoveries and thoughts that emerge while working and traveling in Nicaragua. But it seemed that they just did not fit in the classic social media platforms. Luckily, I finally stumbled accross Substack. As I explored the platform and read the diverse writings, I knew that this would be the place to build my collection.
Join Postcards from Latin America for the following:
Random Daily Notes capturing the images of day to day life in Nicaragua
A Monthly Zine Exploring the unique culture of Nicaragua and the process of living more intentionally here.
Postcards from Latin America is part of Paperclip Press, a digital home and repository for all thigs related to Zine Making, Hand Printing (relief, collagraph, tetra pak drypoint) and promoting indie & micro self publishing.
